Terraced Indigenous Garden

Hout Bay  |  Indigenous

Keeping a predominantly indigenous theme, the main garden of this 2-acre property adjoining the Disa River required gentle terracing with sweeping curves to draw one through the park-like settings, framing the vistas beyond.

Bantry Bay  |  Indigenous, Coastal, Contemporary

With almost 5,000m² of private estate on a ridge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the decomposed granite slopes of this property and the brief required a sustainable and contemporary design. Many fynbos and indigenous plants were carefully selected for this garden, and a feature green wall was established to seamlessly blur the boundaries between the garden and the dramatic mountain and sea views beyond.

An entertainment area and bespoke sculpture has recently been designed and added to the garden by SAOTA, offering shelter from the elements and a functional space for outdoor living.
